Ford Begins Taking Orders For Fuel-Efficient C-MAX Hybrid - Quick Facts

Ford Motor Co. (F: Quote) announced that dealers are now taking orders for C-MAX Hybrid. The company specified that C-MAX Hybrid will be more affordable than Toyota Motor Corp.'s (TM: Quote) Prius v while achieving better fuel economy. Ford said C-MAX Hybrid is being produced at Wayne, Michigan Assembly Plant.

Ford noted that 2013 C-MAX Hybrid will be available this fall with a base price of $25,995, which is approximately $500 lower than the Prius v's base price.

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
