Reese Witherspoon has reportedly been tapped to appear in director Atom Egoyan's new film about the West Memphis Three. The project, dubbed "Devil's Knot," will co-star Colin Firth and has reportedly been financed by Worldview Entertainment.
The film will be produced by Elizabeth Fowler, Clark Peterson, Richard Saperstein and Worldview CEO Christopher Woodrow, who said:
"Worldview is excited to involved with such an important and relevant project. We believe this story needs to be told onscreen, and we couldn't ask for a higher caliber of talent to do so."
Filming is set to begin in Georgia next month and the script is based on Mara Leveritt's biography of the three men. They were wrongfully convicted of murder and spent 18 years in prison.
