Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. announced that the US FDA had granted its subsidiary an approval for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for its generic version of Plavix, Clopidogrel Tablets USP, 75 mg.
These generic Clopidogrel tablets USP, 75 mg are therapeutic equivalent of Plavix tablets from Sanofi-Aventis. Clopidogrel tablets have annual sales of around $6.7 billion in the US.
Clopidogrel tablet USP, are indicated for acute coronary syndrome and recent MI, recent stroke, or established peripheral arterial disease.
At the BSE, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries shares are being traded at Rs.587.70, up 1.28 percent from the previous close.
