AutoZone Inc. (AZO) reported third quarter EPS of $6.28 Tuesday morning, up from $5.29 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $6.25.
AutoZone gapped open lower Tuesday, but recovered in early trade. The stock drifted lower again going into the close and finished down by 7.41 at $361.14 on strong volume. AutoZone has been pulling back from the highs of the year for the last 2 1/2 weeks and set a 3-month low.
