T.I. is set to make his return to the big screen, joining the cast of the upcoming Universal Studios film Identity Thief. After taking slightly more serious roles in American Gangster and Takers, the rapper now is tackling a comedic role.

Deadline.com is reporting that T.I. will play a bounty hunter in the film, which stars Jason Bateman (Juno) and Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids).

It's not the only role the rapper-turned-actor has lined up. He will co-star in Kelsey Grammer's drama series Boss for Starz and is shooting the second season of his VH1 docu-series T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, which premieres September 3.

T.I.'s acting career will hold him over until he releases his forthcoming eighth studio album Trouble Man on September 4.
