Sugarland have been forced to cancel their upcoming show at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Houston, Texas stadium said Monday that the country duo has a "scheduling conflict" and will not be able to perform the August 26 date.
No official reason has been given to explain the conflict, but several sites speculate that it could have something to do with the ABC music series Duets, in which Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles is one of the judges. The summer series, which premiered last week, will probably hold its season finale near the August 26 BBVA show, which could explain the scheduling conflict.
This was slated to be the very first music concert to take place at the new state-of-the-art, open-air BBVA Compass Stadium, which will host the Houston Dynamo soccer team and the Texas Southern University football games. As of now, the Houston area will have to wait for that debut concert because it doesn't look like Sugarland will be re-scheduling.
"We knew the band was planning to add tour dates and between their schedule and ours, which is pretty tight between soccer and TSU football in the fall," says BBVA Director of PR, Marketing & Booking Gina Rotolo. "We were unable to reschedule this show."
