Nordstrom, Inc. (JWN) reported a 5.3 percent rise in same-store sales for the four-week period ended May 26, 2012, compared with the prior year. Preliminary total retail sales grew 9.3 percent to $870 million from $796 million in the same period a year ago.
Year-to-date same-store sales were up 7.7 percent compared with a year earlier. Preliminary year-to-date total retail sales were $3.40 billion, 12.6 percent higher than $3.02 billion last year.
