Guns N' Roses kept fans waiting for the start of their performance in Manchester earlier this week, which led to a mass walkout. The group was supposed to go on at 10 p.m., but did not take the stage until well over an hour later. By that point, over 4,000 fans (out of about 10,000) had left the show in disgust according to an estimate by NME.
Axl and the boys have long had a reputation for pulling this sort of stunt, which might explain why fans chose not to wait more than an hour for the group to take the stage. When they did finally appear, however, the L.A. band delivered a 33-song, three hour show, which finished up after 2.15 a.m., despite being told by organizers that they had to finish by 11 p.m.
The band's official Twitter did not acknowledge the mass walkout, simply writing: "A tip of the hat to the good folk at the Manchester Arena. To say Manchester rocks is an understatement! London calling!"
Guns N' Roses will wrap their U.K. tour a gig at London's O2 Arena on Friday (June 1).
