Aretha Franklin appeared on NBC's Today show to prepare her "Aretha's Peanut Butter Mmm-Mmm-Mmm-Mmm-Mmm Shrimp" dish.
Today hosts Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie joined the Queen of Soul for the cooking segment, though it was clear that Franklin was more concentrated on cooking than bantering.
"This is going to be less than ten minutes, really," Franklin said of her recipe, before becoming fixated on the first of the three skillets of shrimp not realizing the total segment was four minutes.
"We only have about a minute and a half left," Morales said, urging Franklin to move on to the next step.
"Wait a minute, just a moment." Franklin said, still on the first skillet. "A minute and a half? That's all we have?"
"That's all we got! We gotta see how it ends," Guthrie said. "Well tell NBC to extend the time. We gotta finish this recipe," Franklin joked.
