D'Angelo made his first U.S. live appearance in a dozen years at the third and final night of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on Saturday, June 10.

The singer was introduced by Questlove, who noted his own excitement:

"I've been waiting 12 years to say this — ladies and gentlemen, D'Angelo!"

D'Angelo played a varied 90-minute set which included Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland," Parliament Funkadelic's "Funky Dollar Bill," Led Zeppelin's "What Is and What Should Never Be" and the Beatles' "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window."

He did not, however, play any new, original music.

D'Angelo toured briefly in Europe earlier this year and will play the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans on July 6.
