Phillip Phillips, the season 11 "American Idol" champ, was released from the hospital after undergoing over six hours of surgery on his kidney stones.
"I'm out of the hospital and back to work," Phillips told E! News, "Looking forward to the future."
One of the stones, having been there so long, had become embedded in his body, and doctors had to use a laser to cut it out, according to TMZ.
Phillips is now reportedly recovering in a Malibu mansion loaned to him by one of the "Idol" bosses.
Last week was perhaps a better one for the champ as he sold 278,000 downloads of his debut single, "Home," setting the digital record for "Idol" winners.
Phillips joins his fellow Idols in Detroit for the kick-off of the Idol Summer tour on July 6.
