Rumors are swirling that Philip Seymour Hoffman may play the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in the upcoming "Hunger Games" sequel, "Catching Fire."
Heavensbee is the new Gamemaker at the Capitol after Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley) was killed off at the end of "The Hunger Games." Hoffman's character is much savvier and dangerous than his predecessor.
Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are expected to reprise their roles as triumphant heroes Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the film from Francis Lawrence ("Water for Elephants").
Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson have also signed on for the next film, which is scheduled for release in November 2013.
Hoffman recently wrapped a run on Broadway as Willy Loman in the Arthur Miller melodrama "Death of a Salesman."
