The Justice Department is carrying out an antitrust investigation regarding whether cable companies are acting improperly to suppress completely budding competition from online video, Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the report, officials of the department have spoken to several online video providers, including Netflix Inc. (NFLX) and Hulu LLC. In addition, Comcast Corp., Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC) and other cable companies were questioned regarding issues such as setting data caps, limits to the amount of data a subscriber can download each month.
