Jean Dujardin ("The Artist") is in talks to star in "The Wolf of Wall Street," Martin Scorsese's feature length adaptation of the best-selling memoir of the same name.
In the film, Dujardin would play the role of Jean-Jacques Handali, who, along with Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) devised a money laundering scheme.
Jonah Hill and Kyle Chandler co-star in the Terence Winter ("Boardwalk Empire" "Sopranos") scripted flick.
The memoir, written by Jordan Belfort, recounts his hard-living and high-flying run as a stockbroker. The good times don't last, however, and Belfort's world nosedives into drug-addiction and securities fraud.
Production on the film begins in August in New York City.
Dujardin's upcoming roles include "Mobius," a thriller co-starring Tim Roth and the French comedy "Le Petit Joueur."
