KISS have confirmed that the first single from their forthcoming studio album Monster is set for release on July 2.

The album is due to follow sometime in October and the classic rockers will publish a photo book with the album, also called Monster. Thus far, there is no official word on the title of the single.

The news comes at a busy time for the face-painted stars, who will also issue a re-release of their classic album Destroyer. Speaking to Ultimate Classic Rock, Gene Simmons said the re-issue is "coming out shortly, this summer."

He added that the album was a turning point for the group, as producer Bob Ezrin had them re-think how to make music, saying to them, "we're going to learn how to tune our guitars and talk about song structure."
