Slash has teamed up with IK Multimedia for a new app, The AmpliTube Slash, a guitar effects processor and recorder which allows fans to sound like Slash and record themselves doing so. It is available for purchase now via iTunes, and is usable on the iPad, iPod and iPhone.
"AmpliTube Slash is a full-featured mobile guitar effects processor and recording studio app that lets you play, practice and record with Slash's signature gear, anytime and everywhere," said IK Multimedia in a statement.
"Use our iRig or iRig STOMP interfaces to connect your guitar to your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad," IK added.
Slash noted that he uses the AmpliTube setup to quickly capture ideas while on the road.
"My new album, Apocalyptic Love, was entirely written while we were on tour," he said. "If we are not performing we're traveling, so there is little time for creating music. By using my iPhone along with IK's AmpliTube and iRig I was able to capture whatever ideas I had swimming in my head, usually around 4 a.m."
