Walmart Stores, Inc. (WMT) on Wednesday announced a partnership with TruConnect Mobile LLC to deliver Internet on the Go, a new prepaid mobile broadband service that offers great value for casual users. It is exclusively sold at Walmart.
Internet on the Go is powered by MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot and a service plan from TruConnect with no monthly fee. The data balance will not expire if used once a year.
This is different from other low-cost prepaid monthly services where unused megabytes are wasted at month-end.
To get Internet on the Go, customers purchase a MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot by Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NVTL), buy the Internet on the Go service, then register online and turn on the device.
Customers can buy this service with refill, credit or debit cards in increments of $10 for 100 MB, $25 for 500 MB or $45 for 1 GB. Online automatic refills are also available for $20 for 450 MB.
