Johnny Depp has reportedly parted ways with his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis. The pair have been together since 1998 and have two children together: Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9.
A rep for the couple broke the news to People.com, saying they have "amicably separated" and asked that fans "please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children."
According to People, one source close to the couple calls the pair's split "so sad" and revealed that their relationship began falling apart after they moved from their home in the South of France to Los Angeles.
Speaking with Marie Clare in 2010, Paradis had said that they were comfortable with some distance in their relationship:
"I could make an endless list of all the things I admire about him," she said. "We understand that, if we want our relationship to continue, we must give each other space, allow each other to go off on our own, and trust each other. Not everyone is lucky enough to be given space and trust."
