The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has named Jasmine Madatian, a veteran Hollywood publicist, as their new communications director. Madatian will be charged with helping all things promotional, from their annual Oscar Awards to overseeing their ongoing promo campaigns.
The Academy's chief marketing officer Christina Kounelias broke the news in an official statement:
"Jasmine is a smart, innovative and highly regarded communications strategist with strong relationships throughout the film and media industry. Her understanding of our mission and enthusiasm for the Academy is what really sets her apart and makes her such a great fit for this position."
Madatian comes from Disney, where she recently developed the marketing campaigns for films including "Enchanted," "The Proposal," and "Alice in Wonderland." Before Disney she worked with Paramount.
