Actor Richard Lynch, who appeared as a villain in horror classics including "Bad Dreams" and "The Sword and the Sorcerer" has died at the age of 76. Thus far no cause of death has been released for Lynch, but it has been confirmed that he was found dead at his home in Palm Springs, California.

Lynch was sought after for his haunting appearance, which included severe burn scars on his face. He acquired the scars in 1967 after accidentally setting himself on fire. The unique appearance served Lynch well, however, as he was cast in films including "Scarecrow" and "Little Nikita" as well as television shows like "Battlestar Galactica," "The A-Team" and "Six Feet Under."

Lynch most recently worked with director/rock star Rob Zombie in his remake of "Halloween." He played main character Mike Myer's principal in the film and also appears in Zombie's newest film "The Lords of Salem."
