Elvis Costello has announced initial dates for his new tour, 2054—The Centenary Show. Thus far, the dates include six California stops, beginning September 24 at The Cascade Theater in Redding and ending on October 2 at Irvine Barclay Center in Irvine.
When asked about the significance of the title given his shows, Costello was somewhat evasive:
"This show may contain any song I've written. Some you will know already, some are the hits of tomorrow. I'm playing this show now in the unlikely event that I'm not around to perform the songs on the appointed date. Don't be late, we're going to have a big time."
The shows will all feature Costello solo with his guitar.
2054—The Centenary Show dates:
9/24 - Redding, Calif.
9/25 - Chico, Calif.
9/26 - Arcata, Calif.
9/29 - San Luis Obispo, Calif.
9/30 - Santa Barbara, Calif.
10/02 - Irvine, Calif.
