Coldplay frontman Chris Martin says that rapper Kanye West's success inspires him to push his band to become even bigger than it already is.
"I'm always looking at Kanye West and he's moving so fast, doing such amazing work that I want to keep chasing him for a while," says Martin in an interview with The Sun newspaper. "Basically, we set out with two goals: to either make it big in America or sleep with the sisters from the Corrs."
Martin admitted "there might be an end to our popularity," but at least the band will still have its "gangship [and] camaraderie." And of the criticism that is often leveled at the band, Martin explained that "there comes a point where you just accept that whatever you do, someone will like or hate it."
Coldplay are currently touring across North America and are set to play the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic games on September 9.
