Maxwell has canceled his summer tour plans due to an injury to his vocal cords. In a statement, the injury was called a "definitive vocal cord edema and a vocal cord hemorrhage."
The canceled dates include two apiece in Los Angeles (July 20-21), Atlanta (July 27-28) and Newark (August 3-4). Refunds for all shows are available at point of purchase.
Maxwell announced the cancellations through his official Facebook page:
"I know this sucks but after many months of recording I've temporarily damaged my voice. I've had issues before during other tours, but was able to power through . . . I look forward to hopefully seeing you next on our full fledged tour, when the sequel to the BLACKSUMMERS'NIGHT trilogy is release."
The second LP from Max's trilogy, blackSummers'night, is due sometime this year.
