"Lost" star Elizabeth Mitchell has reportedly signed on to join J.J. Abrams new series "Revolution." The show takes place in a post-apocalyptic America in which all electrical devices have ceased functioning and the country is controlled by a series of warring militias.

Mitchell will play the long lost mother of leads Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) and Danny (Graham Rogers). She returns after years estranged and proves to be a caring and compassionate mother.

The show is set to air on NBC starting September 17 and marks a return to network television for Mitchell, who appeared as Juliet on "Lost." She is also known for her role as a guerilla fighter on the space invasion drama "V."
