Rudy Sarzo has confirmed that he has left his post as bassist for prog icons Blue Oyster Cult. The hard rock veteran broke the news during an interview with Classic Rock magazine and said that it was basically just a scheduling issue.

"Due to my scheduling with other projects that I'm doing, it became a little bit hard for me to keep a really solid working schedule with Blue Oyster Cult, so we amicably, we just basically parted ways," Sarzo said. "So they can actually find somebody who can devote more time to the band and I can actually pursue other bands that I'm doing."

It's little wonder the Sarzo is pressed for time, in his illustrious career he has also hit the stage with Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake and Dio. He currently plays in two new metal bands, Tred and Animetal USA, which feature members of Anthrax, Twister Sister and Adrenaline Mob.
