Neil Young has once again signed on to appear at the annual Farm Aid benefit concert.
This year's event will take place on September 22 in Hershey, Pennsylvania and include performances by Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, ALO, Pegi Young and the Survivors and Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real.
Young has been a longtime supporter of the charity concert series, which was founded in 1985. In its tenure Farm Aid has raised over $40 million to support the families of working farmers in need.
The festival has attracted a new generation of celebrity supporters including Matthews, who says we don't do enough to support our farmers:
"I do feel like our awareness is changing in this country, but it's not fast, and it's not fast enough," he said. "There needs to be an effort, I think, to increase the number of people that are informed and the number of people who have access to better food."
