Cobham plc (COB.L) said that recently acquired company, Thrane & Thrane A/S, has been granted the satellite communication component of an upgrade for a fleet of some 200 US Air Force C-130J Super Hercules by Lockheed Martin (USA) in a deal expected to exceed DKK 150 million or about 15.9 million pounds, with a roll out period from 2014 to 2018.
The upgrade would use the AVIATOR 700D product, which can be tailored to suit any commercial or military airframe and mission profile.
"AVIATOR 700D will support the enhanced communications functionality of this extensive upgrade program for the C-130J," commented Walther Thygesen, CEO, Thrane & Thrane.
The Block 8.1 upgrade would be implemented on the fleets of a large number of C-130J operators in the UK, Australia, Italy, Denmark, Canada, Norway and the USA. This award will not create any impact on Thrane & Thrane's revenue and profit expectations.
