Paul McCartney will reportedly work with producer Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Duran Duran) on his upcoming album.

The pair apparently met when Ronson served as the DJ at McCartney's wedding to Nancy Shevell, and have spent the past week working together in New York City.

"This week they went to the studio and started knocking about together to see what they can do together," a source told the Sunday Mirror. "Everybody's really excited about the prospect of Mark working with Paul."

After releasing Kisses on the Bottom, a traditional pop and jazz album, McCartney reportedly wants to get back to something more contemporary.

"Paul respects Mark's knowledge and is wanting to produce a classic album with a young hip edge," the source continued. "And obviously Mark is over the moon to be working with a Beatle."
