Latvian Output Price Inflation Eases For Fifth Month

Latvia's producer price inflation slowed for the fifth consecutive month in June, data released by Statistics Latvia showed Friday.

The producer price index increased 2.3 percent annually in June, following the previous month's 2.6 percent gain. The rate of growth slowed for the fifth consecutive month.

Costs of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply advanced 4 percent annually in June. Mining and quarrying prices were higher by 7.9 percent compared to last year, and manufacturing prices by 1.6 percent.

Prices of goods sold on the domestic market grew by 2.9 percent, whereas prices of exported products rose by 1.5 percent during the month, data showed.

Month-on-month, producer prices moved up 0.2 percent in June, recovering from the previous month's 0.4 percent decrease, the agency said.
