Wipro Q1 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

Indian software services provider Wipro Limited (WIT) reported first quarter net income attributable to the equity holders of the company of $284 million, representing an increase of 18% over the same period last year. Earnings per equity share for the quarter were $0.12.

Non-GAAP Adjusted Net Income for the quarter was $283 million, representing an increase of 19% over the same period last year. Wipro reports results on the basis of International Financial Reporting Standards.

Total Revenue for the quarter was $1.92 billion, representing an increase of 24% over the same period last year. IT Services Revenues for the quarter were $1.496 million. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.12 per share for the quarter on $2.00 billion revenues. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead, the company expects second quarter revenues from IT Services business to be in the range of $1.520 billion to $1.550 billion.
