Carrie Underwood To Peform On CBS Teacher Tribute

Carrie Underwood will perform on a new CBS special that pays tribute to great teachers and education. The special is called Teachers Rock and will feature anecdotes from a host of stars about the influence teachers had on their musical upbringing.

Appearing alongside Underwood on the special will be Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl, Tenacious D's Jack Black, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis and Morgan Freeman. Other performers for the special include Josh Groban.

The benefit concert special will also preview scenes from the upcoming film Won't Back Down, starring Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal as two determined mothers who plan to transform their children's failing inner-city school.

Teachers Rock is set to air on CBS on August 18 at 8 p.m. ET. Funds raised from the show will benefit DonorsChoose.org, Feeding America and Teach for America.
