Alanis Morissette Releases 'Guardian' Video

Alanis Morissette has debuted the video for "Guardian," the lead single from her upcoming album, Havoc and Bright Lights. In the song Alanis sings about being "your keeper for life," a nod to her 2010 baby with husband Mario MC Souleye.

The vid features the Canadian songstress donning angel wings and looking over a city. Cutaway scenes show a youth who is the victim of quarrelsome parents. The vid likely has a personal meaning for Morissette who, in 2011, opened up about her postpartum depression.

"This record, as always, is a snapshot of what I currently obsess about, care about, and what strikes me at 4 in the morning in my most introspective moments. It is my emotional, psychological, social and philosophical commentary through song," Alanis previously said of the LP.

Havoc and Bright Lights, produced by Guy Sigsworth and Joe Chiccarelli and distributed on the Columbia label, is due August 28.
