Eurozone investor confidence declined for the fifth consecutive month in August to the lowest level in more than three years, data released by think tank Sentix showed Monday.
However, the investor sentiment index fell less than expected by 0.7 points to -30.3 in August. Economists had forecast the index to drop to -31.
Confidence weakened less than anticipated as the European Central Bank last week indicated that it will take new measures to tackle the debt crisis.
According to Sentix, the expectations index rose to -23.3 from -24 in July. Meanwhile, current conditions fell to -37 from -35.
