BreitBurn Energy Partners L.P. (BBEP: Quote) reported second-quarter net income attributable to partnership of $92.51 million or $1.29 per unit versus $57.46 million or $0.92 per unit last year.

On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.21 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues and other income items grew to $203.18 million from $142.37 million in the prior-year quarter. Analysts expected revenues of $114.45 million.

Looking ahead, Hal Washburn, CEO, said, "...To reflect our increased capital program and recent acquisitions, we are increasing our full year production target to between approximately 8.3 MMBoe and 8.6 MMBoe and we are increasing our full year Adjusted EBITDA target to between approximately $280 million and $290 million. These increases demonstrate our focus on continually improving our operating performance and the ongoing success of our growth through acquisitions strategy."

More than a decade after the 9/11 attacks, Obama argued that the terrorist threat has shifted and evolved.
