Plantronics Inc. (PLT) reported first quarter non-GAAP EPS of $0.63 after the close Monday, compared to $0.62 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.61. Second quarter non-GAAP EPS is expected to be between $0.63 and $0.68, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.66.
Plantronics rose sharply during the first half hour of trade Tuesday, but settled into a range for the remainder of the session. The stock closed up by 3.42 at $36.89 on above average volume. Plantronics broke out to a 3-month high and re-crossed its 200-day moving average.
