Blake Shelton made a stop by Chelsea Lately to chat with host Chelsea Handler on August 7. The Nashville star talked about the release of his holiday album Cheers, It's Christmas, due this October, and told the audience that he was thrilled to be back.
Blake kicked off the conversation by clearing the air about a nasty rumor he had heard from his close friend Trace Adkins:
"[He] said that you were dogging the hell out of me and you don't love me anymore. Any truth to that?" Blake asked.
To which Chelsea replied:
"No, I like you because you're a hot mess and you talk and you tweet about how drunk you are all the time, and you tweet about how drunk you think I am. But you're really drunk all the time. I'm not all the time. Have you had a drink today?"
And Blake offered his standard tongue in cheek response, saying, "I'm seriously . . . I'm not lying. I've been backstage drinking for about an hour."
Cheers, It's Christmas is due October 2.
