Keith Urban has been tied up lately filming The Voice in Australia, but he has now made it clear that he is focusing on recording his next album. This time around, he says that he's starting with a clean slate to make an album unlike any of the other albums he's made prior.

The "You Gonna Fly" singer has chosen to work with new producers and songwriters while also recording in a studio he's never made music in before:

"I wanted to have everything around me be totally unfamiliar to me and I think it's great in a sense that all sorts of stuff is coming out that I normally haven't done before," he said.

Urban sat down for a co-writing session with producer Jay Joyce and Jeremy Spillman and called it "exhilarating," and "gave birth to a song that I never would have written with anybody else melodically and in a lot of other ways, too."

So far, Urban has confirmed six or seven songs for the upcoming album, which will be released sometime next year.
