Stevie Wonder closed out the fifth annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, which ran Friday through Sunday at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The soul and R&B legend took the headlining slot on Sunday night and treated fans to sing-alongs from his extensive catalog of hits.
Stevie even got a little political at one point, telling the crowd: "We gotta be together as a nation for real . . . not talk a buncha bull." The crowd responded enthusiastically to his call for national unity.
Wonder and his band cranked out hit after hit during the set, including "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing," "Sir Duke," "I Wish," and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)." Along with playing his own hits, Wonder treated the crowd to some surprise covers, including John Lennon's "Imagine," the Beatles' "She Loves Your" and the Temptations' "My Girl."
The festival as a whole was a huge success. Each of the three days drew a capacity crowd, equaling roughly 200,000 people.
