S. Africa June Wholesale Trade Growth Slows

South Africa's wholesale sales increased at a significantly slower pace in June, data released by Statistics South Africa showed Thursday.

Wholesale sales increased 3.9 percent on an annual basis in June, after climbing 9.3 percent in the previous month. In April, the rate of growth was 9.5 percent.

On a monthly basis, wholesale sales dropped a seasonally adjusted 2.7 percent in June, reversing the previous month's 1.3 percent increase.

In the January-June period, sales advanced 8.6 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier, the agency said.
