Rodney Atkins is on board for the 11th Anniversary of the Charlie Daniels Band & Friends Concert to benefit Christmas 4 Kids. Atkins will join previously announced acts Phil Vassar and Thompson Square November 19 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium for the show.
"It's gratifying as an artist to be able to give back in some way to benefit children and families in need, especially during the holiday season," said Atkins.
The annual event raises funds to provide over 400 children from 29 schools around the Nashville area with an all-expenses-paid shopping spree during the holiday season.
The children are picked up for a ride on Daniel's very own tour bus and taken out for a special lunch and party hosted by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
After the event they are then driven to the Henderson, Tennessee Wal-Mart where they are presented with new winter coats and given $150 to spend on anything that catches their eye.
