Healthcare Sector: New 52-week Highs And Lows On Aug.22

In Wednesday's regular trading session, as of 12.00 pm, the following are the healthcare stocks that reached their 52 week high and 52 week low prices.

The 52-week High List

Array Biopharma Inc. (ARRY) recorded another new high of $5.83, and is currently trading at $5.66. The stock has gained 162% year-to-date. The company awaits five potential phase III decisions by the end of 2013.

Senior living facility operator Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (BKD) touched another new high of $21.70, and is currently trading at $21.62. The stock is up 24% year-to-date.

Capital Senior Living Corp. (CSU), an operator of senior living communities, hit another new high of $12.25, and is currently trading at $12.07. The stock has gained 52% year-to-date. So far this year, the company has acquired seven communities for a combined purchase price of $75.6 million, and is planning to meet or exceed this level of transactions in the second half of 2012.

Aesthetic medical device company Cynosure Inc. (CYNO) touched another new high of $27.15, and is currently trading at $27.11. The stock is up more than 130% year-to-date.

Emeritus Corp. (ESC), an operator of senior living communities, set a new high of $21, and is currently trading at $20.28. So far this year, the stock has gained nearly 16%. With very good expense controls, the company is confident of maintaining year-over-year revenue growth rate ahead of its expense growth rate, resulting in enhanced margins and cash flow over time.

Five Star Quality Care Inc. (FVE), a senior living and healthcare services provider, recorded a new high of $4.24, and is currently trading at $4.08. The stock is up 36% year-to-date.

Neogenomics Inc. (NGNM.OB), a provider of cancer-focused genetic testing services, rose to a new high of $2.75, and is currently trading at $2.70. The stock is up nearly 93% year-to-date. The company has launched 20 new molecular assays so far this year, and expects to launch another 15-20 assays, including the new NeoTYPE Cancer Profiles, by year-end.

Pharmacyclics Inc. (PCYC), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, touched another new high of $64.05, and is currently trading at $64.02. The stock is up a whopping 332% year-to-date. The company has enrolled the fifth patient in the phase II trial, dubbed SPARK, of Ibrutinib in patients with relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma, triggering a significant milestone payment from its partner Janssen Biotech Inc. This global study conducted by Janssen is planned to enroll 110 patients worldwide.

Sunrise Senior Living Inc. (SRZ), a provider of senior living services, recorded another new high of $14.30, and is currently trading at $14.26. The stock is up 120% year-to-date. Today, the company announced that it has agreed to be acquired by Health Care REIT (REIT for $14.50 a share.

The 52-week Low List

Advaxis Inc. (ADXS.OB), a biotechnology company focused on developing immunotherapies for cancer and infectious diseases, recorded a new low of $0.06. The stock is down over 60% year-to-date.

Affymetrix Inc. (AFFX), a medical equipment company, dropped to a new low of $3.64, and is currently trading at $3.65. The stock has lost 11% of its value year-to-date.

Medical device company Nxstage Medical Inc. (NXTM) recorded another new low of $12.23, and is currently trading at $12.33. The stock has lost nearly 31% of its value year-to-date. Earlier this month, the company reported a narrower loss on 10% revenue growth in Q2. However, the Q3 outlook provided is below analysts' estimates.

Oxygen Biotherapeutics Inc. (OXBT), a development stage biomedical company, slumped to a new low of $0.87, and is currently trading at $0.90. The stock is down 37% year-to-date.

Sagent Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SGNT) touched a new low of $12.66, and is currently trading at $12.78. So far this year, the stock has lost 39%.
