Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill has launched his new side project, Smoke and Jackal. The band is co-fronted with Mona frontman Nick Brown, and the band will release their debut offering, a six-song set titled EP1, on October 16.
The EP will include tracks titled "Fall Around," "No Tell," "You're Lost," "Road Side," "OK OK" and "Save Face," and according to Jared, the pair hit it off easily:
"Coming together just worked," Followill said in an official statement. "I think it's because we took such an easy approach to it, we didn't bring any egos to it. We just talked about each other's ideas, neither one of us got our feelings hurt. It just worked."
The band's lead single "No Tell" is currently streaming online and will be released for download via iTunes starting on August 28.
