Alanis Morissette has lived a public life, yet she says she does not mind the paparazzi; in fact, she said that she "likes" them in a recent interview with the New York Post:

"I actually like the paparazzi. They're forcing transparency . . . What are we afraid of? Our relationships being dysfunctional? I love all the trappings. I'm as shallow as you can be. I love my six inch heels," Morrissette said.

Last month, Morissette debuted the video for "Guardian," the lead single from her upcoming album, Havoc and Bright Lights. In the song, Alanis sings about being "your keeper for life," a nod to her 2010 baby with husband Mario MC Souleye.

Havoc and Bright Lights, produced by Guy Sigsworth and Joe Chiccarelli and distributed on the Columbia label, is due August 28.
