Motley Crue are in the preparation stages of writing a new album, according to bassist Nikki Sixx. The last album of new material from the group was 2008's Saints of Los Angeles.
"It takes time to put together music," Sixx told Billboard. "Right now we're just writing music."
"It's about finding the time to go home, be off the road, get everybody in a room and start riffing and see where it goes," he added.
In the meantime, the band is on their tour with KISS, which Sixx says is going "really great."
"Kiss is an extremely theatrical, well-oiled machine, and our machine is a bit more chaotic."
That tour resumes on Friday, August 31 at Cincinnati, Ohio's Riverbend Music Center.
