Late last week (September 6), Vince Gill had his star added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was joined at the event by wife Amy Grant and record producer/friend Tony Brown.

"I came out here with a banjo and a guitar to sunny Southern California to try to make it. I was inspired by Steve Martin, but the two things or three things that I never took into consideration was I could not act, he was a better banjo player than me, and he was funny," said Gill at the event.

Gill's star, which is the 2,478th to be laid on the famed walkway, is located at 6901 Hollywood Boulevard not far from that of his wife's.

Reba McEntire, who was also on hand, said that Gill is an all-around good man:

"True friendship is what Vince Gill is all about, not only being a talented musician and a singersongwriter, great family man, loyal friend."
