Josh Thompson has confirmed that he has inked a new record deal with Toby Keith's label, Show Dog-Universal. The label is home to some of country's biggest stars including Trace Adkins, JT Hodges, Jessie James and Rose Falcon.
Speaking with Country Weekly, Thompson said he's thrilled to be in such impressive company:
"I'm a new artist. I've been out for three years, I've had one record, four Top 30 singles, but I'm still a new artist," Josh explains. "There's a spot for me at Show Dog where I'll get a lot of attention."
Thompson had completed his second studio release, Change, before parting ways with his previous label RCA. He adds that the split was tough on his morale, but he's ready to start making music again:
"I'm back in love with music again," he says. "I'm writing some of the best stuff of my life. I'm wanting to write, and I'm writing all the time."
