Diane Sawyer, in an appearance on "ABC World News," shared an update on network colleague Robin Roberts' health. Roberts has recently gone on medical leave from the channel, during which time she'll get a bone marrow transplant.

"This morning, [Robin] received her bone marrow transplant and as some friends gathered, she said to us once again that she knows all of you at home are watching and with her, and that fills her with strength and joy," Sawyer said.

Roberts, co-host of ABC's "Good Morning America" for seven years, survived a breast cancer scare in 2007. She's been in the hospital for a couple weeks undergoing intensive chemotherapy.

ABC has said repeatedly that Roberts' seat is being held for her on the show and will remain so should she make a recovery from MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome).
