Deep Purple have released a box set re-issue of their 1972 album Machine Head, in commemoration of its 40th anniversary. The set includes four CDs, one DVD and a special edition 60-page hardback book.
The first CD includes the Machine Head original album with the 2012 re-master. The second CD includes 1997 remix by Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover. The third CD includes the original album (with 2012 remaster) in Quad SQ stereo.
The fourth CD includes In Concert '72 - 2012 Mix (recorded live at Paris Theatre, London on March 9, 1972. And, the DVD includes the 2012 high-resolution remaster and surround mix of that same concert.
The book contains essays from Glover and Phil Alexander of Mojo magazine, along with a series of quotes, and an interview with photographer Didi Zill whose pics are heavily featured in it.
