Cincinnati Financial Corp. (CINF) reported that its third-quarter 2012 net income was $111 million, or $0.68 per share, compared to $19 million or $0.12 per share in the third quarter of 2011.
Operating income for the quarter rose to $105 million, or $0.64 per share from $20 million or $0.13 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Total revenues for the quarter rose 10% to $1.04 billion from $944 million in the prior year quarter.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.40 per share on revenues of $1.02 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
