Compania de Minas Buenaventura SA (BVN), a Peru-based precious metals producer, reported that its third-quarter net income dropped 11 percent to $185.6 million or $0.7 per share from $208.7 million or $0.8 per share last year.
On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.92 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude unusual gains and losses.
Buenaventura said its total revenues for the quarter declined 5 percent to $411.9 million from $435.3 million last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $381.63 million for the quarter.
Operating income was $120.6 million, a 44% decrease compared to the $214.0 million reported in the previous year.
